PCGS Military Care Packages

The Patrick County Genealogy Society adopted a project Christmas of 2006 which is still ongoing as of 2012 of sending care packages to our Patrick County soldiers who have been deployed overseas most notably Iraq, Baghdad, and Afghanistan. We also support Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany which treats our injured soldiers and for whose service and care to our soldiers we are most grateful. We do this mostly at the major holidays Christmas, Valentine's Day, Easter, and Thanksgiving. Sometimes we send them on St. Patrick's Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Halloween. We have been so blessed with the input we have had from our community---we had churches and individuals who became involved in our efforts. And we even had children from a local elementary school that made Valentine's for the soldiers. We soon realized it was never meant for us to do this by ourselves, that this was a way of getting more Patrick Countians involved in this very patriotic project of which we just can't be pleased enough with. We love our country, our country, and our soldiers! This is a wonderful endeavor, and all of us should be so proud to be supporting our troops and lifting their spirits. We wish for all of our soldiers to come home safely. We would encourage all of you to keep supporting our troops even when they come home and remember their families too.

If you would like to make a donation to PCGS towards these military care packages, we will gladly accept donations as we are a 501c3 nonprofit and will be glad to send you a receipt to deduct from your taxes. These donations will be used to purchase supplies and offset the costs of mailing. Our mailing address is:
